Centered by the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle set with a sapphire within a stylized lozenge openwork double rim with the dates 1613 and 1913 on each side

On the occasion of the tricentenary of the Romanov dynasty in 1913, a number of jewellry items were designed by the Fabergé workshops (see lots 55 and 100). Dated February 9, 1913, the design for the present brooch appears in the stock books of Albert Holmström's workshop. Fifteen pendants and nine brooches of this design were produced.
