A PIECED, APPLIQUED AND STUFFED COTTON QUILTED COVERLET

Worked in various colored cottons in fifty-four squares, the central large square depicting an indian and a pilgrim on a sunset beach with a ship in the distance, framed by a red and white inner border with blue corner blocks centering a circle of stars, surrounded by alternating white squares quilted with an American shield and squares depicting women of various nationalities each inscribed with the specific country enclosed by a white border and red binding
