Lot Essay

Born June 9, 1792 in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, Susan Paine worked as a portrait and landscape painter in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. In the mid 1840's she settled in Providence, Rhode Island until her death in 1862.

The following two lots, are the sons of the couple illustrated here.
