Ralli studied under Jean Léon Gérôme and Jean Jules Antoine Lecomte du Nouy at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He is known to have exhibited at the 1875 Salon and was a member of the Société des Artistes Français where he received an honorable mention in 1885 and a gold medal in 1889. He was also a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy in London until 1879.
