Jean-Baptiste-Claude Sené, maître in 1769

A pair of bergères by Jean-Baptiste-Claude Sené, with similar spiral-fluted uprights carved with acanthus, from a set of four delivered to Madame Elizabeth for the Salon de Compagnie at the château de Montreuil in 1789, is in the collection of the Musée du Louvre, illustrated in B. Pallot, Furniture Collections in the Louvre, 1993, vol. II, pp. 178-179. Another bergère from this set was sold Sotheby's Monaco, 25-26 November 1979, lot 160.
