The foliate engraved cannelee case with panels of floral enamel to each side and with conforming dial, the brass chapter ring with black-painted Roman numerals, subsidiary alarm ring below, blued steel spade hands, the silvered lever platform with bimetallic balance, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs via three hammers, stamped DC and 17490 on the backplate, with three-position strike selection lever to the underside
