The white enamel Roman dial within an ormolu bezzel with egg-and-dart decoration, pierced blued steel hour and minute hands, counterpoised blued steel sweep center seconds hand, the dial signed Lory à Paris, the calendar and equation work below indicated on calibrated silvered chapter rings, the outer year chapter ring revolving against a blued steel pointer and engraved with the months with their relevant days, the stationary silvered equation ring above with blued steel and gilt sunburst hand controlled by the kidney wheel behind operating on a typical cantilever system, the movement with robust circular plates and twin going barrels, Graham-type deadbeat escapement mounted on the backplate with fine adjustment to the crutch for the steel knife-edge suspended gridiron pendulum, countwheel strike on bell, the case with stepped top, glazed sides and back door with pin-hole spring catch, the front applied with ormolu Egyptian caryatids standing on pedestals applied with winged female figures, the rectangular plinth on ormolu bun feet
