The circular silvered regulator dial with finely moulded blued steel hands, signed in the center A.F. Mountain, London S.W., the movement of massive construction with thick rectangular brass plates secured with large double-screwed pillars, Vulliamy deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets, indirect drive to the wheel train with six crossings and Harrison's maintaining power, the 'scapewheel with jewelled end-caps, fine adjustment to the crutchpiece to the steel rod pendulum suspended from a brass bracket on the backboard, the mercury jar with calibrated rating nut above and within a polished steel frame, blued steel pointer at the base swinging against a calibrated silvered beat scale, the milestone-shaped case with glazed hinged movement viewing doors to the sides, foliate-carved mahogany apron beneath the dial, the plinth with fielded central panel with stepped base
