A COPPER-RED-DECORATED BEVELLED JAR
choson dynasty (18th century)

Moulded with eleven facets above a high ring foot, slanted shoulder and wide, rolled lip, painted in copper-red with four large foliate medallions below scrolling stems and blossoms on the shoulders, covered by a greyish-white glaze with thick streaks of blue cast and incised above the foot with three parallel lines, kiln grit in recessed base--6½in. (16.8cm.) high, large rim chip and hairline cracks, diagonal base crack
