A CLOISONNE ENAMEL TRAY
meiji period (late 19th century), sealed namikawa [namikawa sosuke (1847-1910)]

The shallow rectangular tray with rounded edges enamelled in wireless technique with three iris, two flowering, the blossoms of different shades of blue and accents of yellow, the stiff leaves dark and lighter green and the ground of the tray pale grey, slightly yellow at the top end, the underside patterned with wire-outlined brown florets on a chocolate ground, rims finished in shakudo, inlaid seal in silver on the base--9 1/8 x 6 7/8 x ½in. (23.3 x 17.3 x 1.5cm.), two short lines of crazing
