The first of rectangular shape decorated on both sides in iro-e hiramaki-e and gold foil on a roiro-nuri ground with butterflies and flowering grasses behind a fence of inlaid aogai, interior cases in nashiji, with an ivory bead ojime and an ivory netsuke modelled as Hotei and a boy; the second of rectangular shape decorated with two sliding screen panels on each side designed in mokume and illustrated with landscape scenes in iro-e takamaki-e, against a nashiji ground, interior cases in nashiji, with a lacquer bead ojime and an ivory netsuke carved as a peach--2 7/8 and 2½in. (7.3 and 6.4cm.) high, losses to gold foil, small nicks (2)
