The wide inro of rectangular shape lacquered in iro-e hiramaki-e with a group of nine figures viewing cherry blossoms, their garments lavishly decorated in gold, silver, and various patterns, with a kneeling falconer and a figure on horseback waving a fan at the falling petals, a lone figure on the reverse perched on the tree's bough casting petals from a small basket, the fallen cherry blossoms rendered in hirame on a dark brown lacquer ground, interior cases in nashiji; fitted with a soft metal ojime in the form of a lotus flower, and an ivory netsuke carved as an old woman leading a child--3¾in.
