The first carved in high relief with scholars conversing and drinking wine, the reverse with a solitary scholar seated in a pavillion, the two scenes encircled by scrolling clouds; fitted with a bead ojime and an ivory netsuke carved as two foreigners; the second carved with the 'three friends,' plum, pine and bamboo, and with a cricket on grasses and chrysanthemums against a recessed diaperwork ground, interior cases nashiji; fitted with a soft metal ojime and an ivory netsuke carved in the form of a mokugyo and a fly whisk--2 7/8 and 2½in.
