edo period (19th century), signed kajikawa saku and with red jar seal

Of oval section lacquered in takamaki-e and iro-e togidashi with a continuous landscape with a pavillion, red sake cups floating down a stream, a bridge, a striped enclosure and a poem slip lying on a wooden stand, all alluding to the "Orchid Pavillion," with kirigane accents, interior cases in nashiji; fitted with a lacquer bead ojime and an ivory manju netsuke lacquered with two fish among weeds--3 5/8in. (9.1cm.) high
