KUNIYOSHI: oban tate-e (35.8 x 25.2cm. ea. approx.); two triptychs, the first depicting the lady Chosen observing the fleeing Ryofu, in the left panel, as the obese Totaku falles over and is aided by Riju, from the series Tsuzoku Sangokushi no uchi, "Tales from the 'Romance of the three Kingdoms'", signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga and published by Tsutaya Kichizo; the second triptych depicting Tametomo watching his retainer Oniyasha lift a stranded boat off a rock, signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga and published by Yamaguchiya Tobei--both good impressions, first good color, second slightly faded and stained, margins trimmed, each panel creased near left edge (6)
