John Ferren was born and raised in the western United States. As a teenager he became interested in sculpture and by his mid-twenties had moved to Paris to study at the Sorbonne. During the 1930s Ferren often exhibited with Miro, Giacometti and Kandinsky. His prints are very rarely seen at auction.
