etching and aquatint, 1862, on laid paper, watermark Hallines, a fine impression of the third state (of four), presumably from the Cadart edition of 1862 (Fisher records this edition as printed in bistre), with full margins, pale time staining, the top margin edge folded back 1/2-inch, otherwise in very good condition

Based on Manet's painting of 1861 (W. 37), as with lot 288, the model for this painting and the subsequent etching was Leon Köella.
