The "Viet-Nam" was launched on October 14, 1951 and made its maiden voyage from Marseille to Yokohama July 17, 1952. By 1967 the liner was renamed "Pacifique". In 1970 she was sold to Cia de Nav Abeto SA, Panama, where she was rebuilt and renamed "Princess Abeto". She ended her life and was broken up in 1976 as the "Malaysia Kita" after she had sadly sunk in shallow water as the result of a fire that had errupted while the ship was lying at Singapore for repairs.
