(11 13/16 x 8¼ in.), modern morocco gilt in the style of a sixteenth-century entrelac binding, title-leaf soiled, corners of first few leaves bent, without final blank leaf R6, occasional marginal finger-soiling and light marginal foxing, some slight showthrough from engravings. Second edition, engraved architectural title, 47 engraved maps in the text (most approx. 110 x 150 mm.), by Girolamo Porro, mainly of islands and coastal areas but including a view-plan of Venice and 2 world maps, woodcut head- and tail-pieces and ornamental initials, Galignani's large woodcut device on colophon page.
