Title with xylographic heading and woodcut vignette of St. John the Baptist, A1r printed in red and black within woodcut historiated border, numerous woodcut initials (the larger historiated showing putti at play), and numerous woodcut diagrams in margins and text. Folio, 301 x 213 mm. (11 7/8 x 8 3/8 in.), later vellum-backed boards; title-page and some leaves at beginning water-stained, some other marginal stains at beginning and end, some small wormholes (affecting a few letters on title very slightly), lacking final blank (2F6).
