ISIDORUS HISPALENSIS. Etymologiae. Venice: Peter Loeslein, 1483. 136 leaves (complete); Gothic and Greek types, numerous woodcut diagrams, including full-page table of consanguinity on e9v. Folio, 316 x 200 mm. (12 1/16 x 8 in.), later vellum-backed boards, remnants of gilt-lettered spine labels; some leaves with fore-margins stained (occasionally crossing text), a few small wormholes (mostly marginal). This edition of the influential medieval encyclopedia is one of only two known independent productions by Loeslein, who had formerly worked with Bernard Maler and Erhardt Ratdolt.
