Chase, afs Treasurer U.S.", a further note indicates price of 12.50 per 1000 sheets, "the whole product of the Mill to be taken.", very fine, and another early Federal sample, this of a brown geometric lathework pattern, notation written in ink across pattern reads, "Pay to order of H. McCulloch, Wm. E. Chandler, a second endorsement is signed, "S.M.
