CHANDLER, RAYMOND. Typed letter signed ("Ray") to Michael Gilbert. Palm Springs, 18 January 1957. 1½ pages, 4to. With a few holograph corrections in blue ink.
An Interesting letter regarding copyright matters with a humorous postscript about his own funeral instructions. "...I want either a Church of England or Episcopalian church service, depending on where I die, I wanted to be cremated, and I want my eyes to a cornea bank, if they want them...I forgot to add, as to the funeral service, that I will not, if I have anything to say about it, have it anywhere but in a church...no poems read, no speeches, no goddam tame parson in a funeral parlor or chapel..."
