Lot Essay

Brown (1996) writes: "The first possibly Tlingit, split design at necks, with semi-formline head structure, very cleanly cut, shingle-layered body feathers, ovoid wing and tail joints, center quill with four chevron shingle-hatched tail feathers, straight cut cross-hatching on background areas. Single clasp, straight edges. The second possibly Haida, very clean and straight cuts, firmly-edged design shapes. Crane or heron design, split profiles joined at backs of heads at center. Leg, claw, and wing or tail designs. Fine single-hatched ground areas, fine double-cut lines. Fairly high copper alloy."
