Richard Singleton, foaled in 1828, was by Bertrand out of Blackeyed Susan by Tiger. An earlier painting by Troye of this horse with his trainer, groom, and jockey is in the collection of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mellon (A. Mackay-Smith, p. 54, illustrated).
