Of rectangular outline in carnelian and 18K gold, the lid bearing a green and black enamel plaque with the initials ET in rose-cut diamonds, each end enhanced by a carved jadeite plaque depicting a dragon, with rose-cut diamond and black enamel accents and a rose-cut diamond thumbpiece, opening to reveal, on one side, a mirror-covered compartment, the reverse encasing a writing tablet and a gold pencil and on the other, two covered compartments and a lipstick holder, with French hallmarks (several diamonds missing), in a leather fitted case signed Charlton & Co., New York (leather clasp missing)--3¾ x 1 5/8 x 1½ ins., circa 1925
