LANA TURNER
A jewel case belonging to the actress; containing over two hundred pieces of the star's favorite jewelry. The 1940s leather jewelcase travelled everywhere with Ms. Turner, including Argentina. Evita Peron, who was fascinated by the actress, actually arranged for the case to be confiscated by the police so the pieces could be photographed for copying purposes. At the time it was also filled with Ms. Turner's collection of magnificent jewels. The case includes two pairs of antique earrings from the 1930s worn in her early movies; a 14K gold ring inscribed SIEMPRE (Always), a gift from a lover while making Latin Lovers; a diamond cross and loose stones in tissue; an L faux diamond ring; two 14K gold boxes inscribed to her; M.G.M rings, jewelled belts, necklaces, earrings and various other pieces.
