Lot Essay

The Tiffany & Co. Pattern Book lists the pair as "Candelabra O.E.", apparently representing "Old English". The orders that are listed date to circa 1895 to 1904. The candelabra weighed approximately 232.5 ounces of silver. They are described as "6 arms & central light Ea. See Cost 7 sockets". It is interesting to note that under the first number entry it is indicated as "too heavy" and is at its highest price of $604. The last entry listed is "Mkg Pr. C'sticks at $216. Perhaps this pair did not include branches.
