The hinged lid enclosing a fitted interior with central mixing well (lacking bowl), flanked on either side by lidded caddies, on rectangular moulded base and bun feet, the silvered escutcheon inscribed Of the oak, part of the original foundations of Old Stockwell Bridge, Glasgow, built about the year 1345, taken down in 1850
