A pair of majolica 'dolphin' sweetmeat dishes
after models by John Bell for Summerly's Art Manufactures, each modelled with shell-moulded baskets supported on the back of a stylised dolphin, it's tail arched over the bowl, on mound bases moulded to simulate waves, enriched in colours, impressed marks, date codes for 1889 -- 4¾in. (12.1cm.) high (some slight crazing to glaze)
