painted and gilt with six raised panels depicting fishermen and other figures on the banks of a meandering river in a pine strewn rocky landscape, birds perched on a leafy branch above flowers attached to canes, two ladies in an interior standing beside a robe stand and a table below butterflies, a puppy playing with a broom held by one figure, numerous figures in a procession around a seated official and attendants in a large cart, a bird below cherry blossom on a riverbank, a lady and child attendant kneeling beside a screen and a hibachi, all within geometric borders, the flattened underside of the body and shoulder decorated with dense flowers below a band of interlacing trailing scarves, the rim with a band of key-pattern -- 12½in. (32cm.) high, signed Hasegawa to the base, four panels signed and sealed Shunkei.
