Lot Essay

Antonio Ugo was born in Palermo, Sicily, in 1870. He studied under Rota in Rome, becoming one of Italy's leading sculptors of the early 20th century. Examples of his work can be seen in The Palermo Museum and the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.
