A pair of Shibayama style ivory moon flasks
inlaid in mother-of-pearl, horn, stained ivory and coral, and decorated in gold lacquer with a tiger behind a vase of flowers beside a jardiniere and below a bird in flight, the other with a dragon coiled around a hanging basket of further flowers, the reverses with panels of depicting egrets and dragon flies among lotus, the necks, sides and feet carved with ho-o and mythical winged animals among clouds -- 7.in (17.8cm) high, (minute crack, small area of inlay replaced).
