A Chinese export armorial dish
painted en grisaille, in coloured enamels and gilt with a roundel of figures at leisure before a pavilion in a rocky river landscape around a central coat of arms, all within a border of pomegranate cartouches on a scattered flowerhead ground and further landscape panels on a geometric pattern ground -- 12¼in. (31cm.) diam, circa 1730.
The arms are of Elwick.
