the short foot rising to a slightly everted rim, decorated to the interior with four boys playing with insects on a table in a fenced garden of rockwork and plantain, the exterior with four scenes of the same boys playing with toys, a bird cage, banners, further insects, kites and a tub of water, all on a fenced terrace strewn with plantain, rockwork and flowers, above a band of lappet heads - 15in. (38cm) diam, Jiajing six-character mark and of the period, (some restoration).
