A "trumpeter" cup
painted in the centre with two moors, dressed in Ottoman style, one wearing a yellow tunic trimmed in white and blowing a horn, the other dressed in pale blue, playing a trumpet suspending a yellow banner, both wearing thonged shoes standing on a yellow and blue strip, all reserved on a black ground, the well on the border with bands of gilt spearheads and spaced lozenges - 3in. (7.5cm) high, Qianlong, (restored.)
A bowl in the Mottahedeh Collection with identical decoration as illustrated by D. Howard and J. Ayers Vol.1 p.305 No.299, who suggests that it is possibly a design by Cornelis Pronk.
