Griffiths containing numerous details of the progress of the dispute, the first letter in April includes, "I think the guns will be surrendered in this district without anything worse than ill feeling and disgust on the part of their owners - Molapo has promised to send in his gun before the expiration of the limit...", later ".... I hope this meeting at Thaba Bossigo may turn out well but we are afraid the gathering of so many people together in arms having different views may result in a state of things from which there can be no compomise.", "...it appears that Masupha is determined not to give in - at the same time he called himself 'a man of the Government!'...If this district can be kept quiet it will be a great thing gained for it contains a fourth of the whole population of Basutoland..."; a lot of interesting detail, fine
