The case cast and chased overall with flower heads, the rectangular base on milled bun feet, waisted sides and pagoda top surmounted by a foliate cast handle with later push repeat button, glazed foliate cast circular bezel to the gilt engine turned dial with black painted Roman chapters, blued steel hands and steel alarm hand, the movement with circular plates and triple going barrels, strike/trip repeat on two gongs of circular section, later platform lever escapement; with original red and gilt-tooled travelling box with chamois leather padded inner lining
