The case with a stepped base with beaded moulding, sweeping canted angles with bevelled glasses to the sides with push repeat button and to the top surmounted by a curved handle, the solid rear door with shuttered holes for the three trains and hand-set and with balance regulation and strike/silent slide, the silvered Roman dial with subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands signed J.W. Benson. 25, Old Bond STrt. London., the substanial triple chain fusee movement with five pillars, Harrison's maintaining power, large gilt platform with cut bimetallic compensated balance to underslung lever escapement, quarter striking on two gongs with hour strike on further gong, strike/silent lever and engraved Benson London
