AN UNUSUAL EMBELLISHED HONGMU MIRROR
LATE QING DYNASTY

The hardwood frame with mitred corners and beaded rim, embellished with an applied high-relief bone butterfly and flowers including crab's claw chrysanthemum and daisy, variously incised and stained in shades of green and red, the inner rim of the frame lined with ivory bamboo, the reverse with a hinged prop-stand (minor chip, some replacements)
