AN EARLY MING WHITE-GLAZED ANHUA-DECORATED BOWL
ENCIRCLED XUANDE SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

Lightly incised around the exterior with a band of long slender petal lappets extending from the base to the key-fret band around the rim, the interior with a fine anhua floral meander around the sides enclosing a branch issuing fruit at the centre, the glaze with a pale bluish tint
8 in. (20.5 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

Compare with a similar bowl in the British Museum illustrated in Oriental Ceramics, Kodansha Series, vol. 5, fig. 153. Another bowl was sold in Hong Kong, 17 May 1988, lot 36.
