A FINE AND RARE WHITE-GLAZED ANHUA-DECORATED STEMCUP
ANHUA QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The thinly potted semi-eggshell rounded sides rising to a flaring rim and resting on a spreading stem, the interior and exterior incised in early Ming style with arching lotus scrolls in anhua, the foot with a similar scroll beneath lotus panels around the base of the cup

Cf. a pair of apparently identical stemcups illustrated by Ayers, The Baur Collection, Catalogue, vol. 1, A 418, 419. Another example in the National Palace Museum, Taibei, was included in the Special Exhibition of K'ang-hsi, Yung-cheng, and Ch'ien-lung Porcelain Ware from the Ch'ing Dynasty, 1986, Catalogue, no. 83.
