Believed to have come from the Sun Wu Tsu Temple, in Shan-so Province.

This figure, together with other Luohans figures believed to have come from the same temple, were previously asumed to be date to the Song Dynasty. Recent scholarship, however, suggest a Ming dynasty date is more appropriate.
