Inlaid with ivory, agate, soapstone, lapis lazuli and various hardstones, depicting a crane standing on a rock looking in the direction of his mate perched on a gnarled pine branch, the ground painted in oil with pale colours of green fusing into yellow, surrounded by a zitan frame carved with a narrow key-fret border (several replacements and losses, surface crackled)
