Finely painted to each body with six flower-heads surrounded by scrolling leafy tendrils, all within double-line borders, the interior with six individual floral sprays, all painted in bright inky-blue tones

Lot Essay

Two Chenghua cups of this design were included in the Japanese exhibition Imperial Porcelain: Recent Discoveries of Jingdezhen Ware, 1985, Catalogue, nos. 26 and 27, the first with a Chenghua mark the second with an apocryphal Xuande mark.
