Well modelled as an artemisia leaf with incised veins on the interior and moulded veins at the base, all covered in a pale celadon glaze, the ninahao in a vertical line on the reverse

Lot Essay

Compare with the washer in the form of a five-pointed leaf with the same seal mark but covered with a crackled ge-type glaze, included in the Min Chiu Society Exhibition of Monochrome Ceramics, Hong Kong, 1977, Catalogue, no. 122. Another, also with a Qianlong seal mark and with the addition of a beetle is illustrated in Qing dai ciqi shang jian, p. 173, pl. 227.
