A CARVED CLAIRE-DE-LUNE JARDINIERE
XUANHE FOUR-CHARACTER MARK, KANGXI

Finely carved on the globular body with a pair of sinuous four-clawed dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl amid fire and cloud scrolls and above crashing waves and rockwork, covered in an even, pale lavender- blue glaze, the lipped rim painted with a saw-tooth border in underglaze-blue, the interior white, the base with the mark, Xuan he nian zhi (firing crack to ring foot)
