GUANGXU SIX-CHARACTER MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD
Each variously enamelled with green, puce and clair-de-lune archaistic phoenixes centering iron-red dragons amidst lotus below iron-red and gilt bands around the rim (hairline to one bowl) (the bowls 8 1/4 in. 21 cm. diam.); the lychee bowls enamelled around the exterior with ripening lychee fruit growing around bamboo issuing from the base, (6 1/2 in. 16.5 cm. diam.)
