The highly translucent material, suffused with veins of brilliant emerald green, one side with an uncarved area, surmounted by a pair of archaistic confronted dragons very well carved in low relief, the other side also well carved with a narrative scene, probably taken from a popular romance depicting a lady seated in a tent with a baby, watching a goat seated beneath a tree with the moon overhead, the goat and moon cleverly carved from a russet and a pale celadon area of the stone, to the original gold threaded coral bead and seed pearl surmount, probably 18th century
