A FINE BAMBOO CARVING OF MAGU ON A RAFT
QIANLONG
Finely and intricately carved with Magu standing on a tree trunk raft, her hair tied in two top knots, an attendant crouching at one end paddling a bamboo oar against the crashing waves, the raft carrying two pots of plants, one with small flower-heads and lingzhi, the other bearing large blossoms and peaches, with a gourd tied to the back of the raft with a ribboned string, the patina of rich reddish-honey tones (break to oar restuck)
